EASME Monitoring Visit

On June 19th, Life LEMA partners had the monitoring visit of EASME (Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises for the EU) representatives whose goals were to assess the technical advancement of the project. This event was an opportunity to give a preview of LifeLEMA final outcomes while meeting EU stakeholders.

We have been traveling across the transboundary area throughout the day, stopping by at each technical spot of the project in San Sebastián, Saint-Jean-de-Luz and finally Anglet.

All LifeLEMA stakeholders participated in this monitoring event and presented their input in the three-year work. It was time to address the project’s replicability in other areas as well as its impact on policies either locally and internationally. Other substantial aspects of LifeLEMA have also been covered especially regarding the future of the project as the After-Life Plan was at the forefront of the discussion.

We also made the most of the sunny weather by taking EASME members for a boat trip to present the operational strategy for marine litter collection on our vessels.

It has been a great honor to meet EU representatives and to share LIFELEMA technical tools and latest results.  This event enabled us to catch a glimpse of what is ahead of us when it comes to the imminent ending of LifeLEMA. We are both moved and proud when thinking about what comes next.
