The EGU General Assembly is the largest geoscience meeting in Europe with thousands of scientists and many topics discussed such as plastic pollution or natural disasters. The event will take place in the Austria Center Vienna in Vienna, Austria, will start on the 6th of April and will finish on the 12th of April 2019.
LifeLEMA project is going to take part in this event with an oral presentation and a poster about the work done throughout the three years of the project. In the oral presentation, the work on monitoring litter from rivers using advanced technology will be introduced; while in the poster session the work done regarding floating macro litter on the coastal waters of the southeast of the Bay of Biscay will be presented.
We are really excited about taking part in this assembly and particularly on the 8th April, which is plastics day! It will be the first time that the plastic pollution topic will be discussed at the assembly during a hole day, discussing about the spreading of marine litter due to ocean currents and about why we have to act now and what can we do.
