What is it?
The EGU General Assembly is the largest geoscience meeting in Europe with thousands of scientists and many topics discussed such as plastic pollution or natural disasters.
Where is it?
It will take place in the Austria Center Vienna in Vienna, Austria.
When is it?
The event will start on the 6th of April and finish on the 12th of April 2019.
Monday 8th April is plastics day!
It will be the first time that the plastic pollution topic will be discussed at the assembly during a hole day. During the morning, the meeting will take place in the room N1, and will be about, at first, the spreading of marine litter due to ocean currents. Then, scientists from all around the world will talk about their studies on plastics fragments and their impact on our environment.
During the afternoon, the meeting will take place in the room E1 and will be led by 6 speakers who will talk about why we have to act now and what can we do.
To conclude the day, in the X4 hall, 25 studies about the impact of plastics on different environments, on the climate and on our society, will be presented.
